MAIZE FARMING PROJECT
We equip peasant farmers with effective, environmentally friendly maize growing skills and techniques. We then provide ready market for their maize.
This maize is processed to make nutritious flour for food and porridge for children and adults, maize brand for animal feeds and healthy maize wine.
MICROCREDIT & SAVINGS SCHEME
We train our people to live within their means and save from the money they make from the agribusinesses. This helps them save for emergencies and effectively provide for their families.
We do this through our microcredit savings and credit scheme where a group of 3 young people make a bankable deposit of ugx 50,000 per week and this money is rolled into the scheme to bring in interest from lending it to other people.
Further training in financial literacy and financial inclusion
FINANCIAL INCLUSION (Through the E- Lima app)
This application acts as a ledger for our peasant maize farmers to help track the quantity of maize produced, track farm inputs, and sold to us, the income and expenditure of the business among others.
The application creates a digital record in order to create a credit history for the farmers to help them become credit worthy with financial institutions.
This form of bookkeeping is environmentally friendly since it avoids using papers
